William Byron, Chevrolet Secures Victory at the 2024 Daytona 500

Chevrolet dominates NASCAR season-opener at Daytona, securing victories in each of the three national series

Enduring a rain-delayed start and a fierce battle towards the end of the race, Team Chevy's William Byron and the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports #Camaro #ZL1 team emerged as the champions of the 2024 #Daytona 500. This victory not only marked Byron's triumph but also Chevrolet's 26th win in the prestigious "Great American Race", making it their second consecutive victory.

Scott Bell, the vice president of Global Chevrolet, congratulated William Byron and the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Camaro ZL1 team on their remarkable achievement in the 2024 Daytona 500. He expressed Chevrolet's pride in winning NASCAR's most iconic race and highlighted the significance of William bringing home their 26th victory in the Great American Race.

This triumph also signified Hendrick Motorsports' return to victory lane in the Daytona 500 after a nine-year hiatus. With Byron's win, the organization now boasts a record-tying nine victories in this prestigious event, making it even more special as it coincided with the organization's anniversary season, exactly 40 years since their first-ever start in NASCAR's top division.

The NASCAR season-opening weekend at Daytona International Speedway began with a milestone achievement for Chevrolet. Nick Sanchez and the No. 2 Rev Racing Silverado RST team secured Chevrolet's 100th NASCAR victory in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, held at the renowned 2.5-mile Florida Superspeedway on Friday.

In addition to William Byron's victory in the Daytona 500, another Team Chevy driver, Austin Hill, triumphed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series' season-opener. Hill parked his No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Camaro SS in victory lane, completing a weekend sweep for Chevrolet at the "World Center of Racing".

Chevrolet has now become the only manufacturer in NASCAR history to achieve a sweep of all three NASCAR national series in a season-opening weekend at Daytona International Speedway more than once, previously accomplishing this feat in 2018.

Overall, this victory added to an already exceptional weekend for Chevrolet at Daytona, solidifying their dominance in the world of NASCAR.
