The 2026 Mustang FX Package Ignites Retro Vibes Bringing 80s Nostalgia Back to the Road

Ford is celebrating this rich era of Mustang history with the Mustang FX Package, a new appearance package inspired by the third-generation Mustang.
The 2026 Mustang FX Package blends vintage styling cues with modern execution to show how Mustang can highlight its legacy while still looking toward the future. The FX Package comes with two distinct wheel designs. The standard wheel offers a fresh interpretation of Mustang’s classic 19-inch split-five-spoke design, whereas the Performance package takes cues from the legendary Fox Body styles. Both designs are coated in a mid-gloss Oxford White finish and include color-matched center caps, which are embossed with the Mustang GT wordmark in a brand-new font.
Created exclusively for the FX Package and patented by the Ford Vehicle Personalization team, this subtle detail was inspired by the wordmark found on the front and rear of the 1987-1993 Mustang models. This same detail is now featured on the rear window of coupe models equipped with the Mustang FX Package.
Additional Oxford White accents include the 5.0-liter, GT, and Mustang Pony badges, while Performance pack variants showcase Oxford White nostrils in the Gloss Black hex-patterned grille – standard Mustang FX Package models will have Dark Carbonized Gray nostrils. The white taillights enhance the rear appearance, and together with the Performance pack 19-inch wheel, they will be offered in the Ford Performance Parts catalog. These two options provide current and prospective seventh-generation Mustang owners with yet another avenue to customize their vehicle.
The cabin exudes a distinct 1980s vibe, featuring new upholstery that draws inspiration from the seat inserts of the Fox Body. The perforated leather, adorned with black and white elements, replicates the plaid inserts characteristic of the 1980s seats and is offered on both the standard bucket seats and the optional Recaro sport seats exclusive to the coupe. These playful inserts harmonize beautifully with the dual-contrast stitching, which showcases City Silver and Adriatic Blue thread across the seats, dashboard, door panels, steering wheel, and center console. Completing the most noticeable interior updates is a Mustang GT IP badge, designed in the unique font specific to the FX Package. A more understated addition is the Dark Alley trim, taken from the Mustang Dark Horse.
With the launch of the FX Package, the 2026 Mustang will unveil a new color while also bringing back another. Adriatic Blue Metallic, highlighted in the Mustang FX Package gallery, takes its cue from the Teal shade of the third-generation Mustang. Meanwhile, Orange Fury Metallic Tricoat makes its comeback for the first time since 2019. Both colors will be available for the Mustang EcoBoost, GT, and Dark Horse models. Owners can further customize their 2026 Mustang with new seatbelt options, which come in International Orange, Prime Blue, and Black with a vibrant red stripe.
The Mustang FX Package is only available at the GT Premium trim level, on both coupe and convertible, in either manual or automatic, and with or without the Performance package; however, the new color options and seatbelts will be offered throughout the Mustang range.
