Ford Performance Launches the Most Ambitious Global Motorsport Program in Company History

Racing on six out of the seven continents, from the prestigious tracks of Le Mans and Interlagos to the challenging trails of Dakar and Baja California



To celebrate the most ambitious worldwide racing program in Ford's remarkable history, the company has arrived in Charlotte, North Carolina to unveil its complete lineup of racing series.

New Livery Debuts for Mustang GT3 Proton Competition IMSA and WEC Car


A new livery has been unveiled for the Proton Competition customer racing Mustang GT3, set to compete in both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship.



The No. 55 car will be hitting the track at Daytona International Speedway this week, with drivers Ryan Hardwick (Endurance Cup rounds only), Dennis Olsen (Daytona only), and full-season drivers Corey Lewis and Giammarco Levorato.

Over in the FIA World Endurance Championship, the No. 77 car will make its debut at Losail International Circuit in Qatar, with Ryan Hardwick, Zacharie Robichon, and Ben Barker taking the wheel.



Both cars will sport the same livery featuring the iconic Pony, providing a consistent look as we and our customers race with the Mustang.


The second Proton Competition WEC Mustang GT3 No. 88 livery has also been revealed, with drivers Giorgio Roda (Italy), Mikkel O. Pedersen (Denmark), and Dennis Olsen (Norway).


New Livery Unveiled for Dinamic GT Customer Racing Mustang GT3s

Another fresh livery unveiled, this time for the two Dinamic GT Mustang GT3s set to compete in SRO’s Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS, kicking off at Paul Ricard (France) in April.



Car No. 54, driven by Frederic Vervisch, Christopher Mies, and Dennis Olsen (Olsen exclusively for Endurance Cup rounds), along with car No. 55 (driver lineup to be revealed by Dinamic GT later), will showcase a unique design fusing Dinamic GT's classic green, black, and white colors with the iconic Mustang pony as the focal point of the livery.


Raptor-Branded Race Truck Teased Ahead of Dakar 2025


It's never too early to start planning for the future, even with Ford Ranger already in the 2024 Dakar competition. Looking ahead to 2025, Ford is gearing up to compete for the top spot in next year's race with a brand-new Raptor race truck.



This truck will incorporate valuable insights from the 2024 race and will be developed in collaboration with M-Sport.


F-150 Lightning Goes Off-Road with Switchgear Demonstrator


The F-150 Lightning Switchgear by Ford Performance is an electrifying vehicle with 37-inch tires, perfect for showcasing high performance both on and off-road.



Created in partnership with RTR and drawing inspiration from the F-150 RTR FunHaver project vehicle, Switchgear boasts custom carbon bodywork and a striking Ford Performance 2024 livery, along with rugged off-road enhancements to push the boundaries of where the F-150 Lightning can go.


All-New NHRA Funny Car 


Ford Performance kicks off the 2024 NHRA Funny Car season with a bang, introducing the incredible Mustang Dark Horse Funny Car. This new addition to Ford's racing lineup proudly carries the iconic Dark Horse name, solidifying its place among the elite racers.



The Mustang Dark Horse Funny Car represents the ultimate combination of power, speed, and a rich legacy of excellence that defines Ford Performance in the thrilling world of NHRA racing.

Continuing their tradition of blending top-notch performance with impressive horsepower, last season saw Bob Tasca III achieve the fastest time at 1,000 feet in a Mustang, clocking in at an impressive 3.836 seconds.



This outstanding performance propelled Tasca to his best career season finish. With Tasca leading the charge for Ford Performance Funny Car entries in 2024, all eyes are eagerly fixed on the championship.


New NASCAR Xfinity Series Decals


The 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Mustang has received a fresh decal package, giving birth to the exciting new Dark Horse model that perfectly represents Mustang's global racing program.

These decals have undergone a meticulous design process, capturing the essence of the Dark Horse nameplate. The iconic pony on the grille has been darkened, and the official logo takes center stage on the rear panel.



In a nutshell, this year's Xfinity Mustang is set to exude an even more intimidating presence as Ford aims to secure their second consecutive series championship.


Ford Returns to Pikes Peak in 2024 with New EV Demonstrator


Ford Performance engineers have been able to unleash their creativity with electric vehicle prototypes, resulting in impressive vehicles like the Mustang Mach-E 1400 and SuperVan.



In 2024, Ford plans to further explore the limits of innovation by bringing the SuperVan 4.2 to renowned tracks like Bathurst. Additionally, Ford will make a comeback to the iconic Pikes Peak Mountain in June with a new, yet-to-be-named EV prototype to conquer the challenging terrain.


Lineup Announced for King of the Hammers 4400, 4600 Classes


The lineups have been finalized for the King of the Hammers race, kicking off at the end of January in the 4400 unlimited and 4600 stock classes:

4400 (Race of Kings): Shannon Campbell (No. 5), Erik Miller (No. 21), Levi Shirley (No. 81), Brian Caprara 4600 (Every Man Challenge): Shannon Campbell / Levi Shirley (No. 5081), Derek West / Jason Shipman (No. 4420), Brian Caprara / Chris May (No. 31)


Don't forget about the Bronco customer camping and trail driving experience at King of the Hammers, organized by Bronco Nation, for an up-close experience with the race. Mustang Set to Take on the World's Racetracks

The Mustang ladder of opportunity will come to life in 2024 as Mustang enters various levels of motorsport. Starting at the grassroots level, the new one-make Mustang Challenge Series featuring the Dark Horse R will kick off in June in Ohio. With a five-race series that is already popular, the Mustang Challenge Series promises to showcase new talent and experienced club racers from all over America.


In Mustang GT4, Ford will have seven cars competing in customer racing on two continents in 2024. At the top level of Mustang racing, the Mustang GT3 will compete in IMSA, WEC, and Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe with seven full-season cars racing in GT3 worldwide.


Additionally, Mustang will continue to participate in the Australian Supercars Championship, starting the season in February at the iconic Mount Panorama for the Bathurst 1000.


Ford Formula 1 Update


Christian Horner, the Team Principal and CEO of Red Bull Racing, provided an update on the progress being made in collaboration with Ford Performance and Red Bull Ford Powertrains for the development of a new power unit for the 2026 season. This upcoming season will witness some of the most significant regulation changes in recent years.


The focus is on increasing the power output from the electric motor, along with transitioning to a new carbon-free fuel in line with F1's goal of achieving net carbon zero by 2030. These developments are part of the efforts by Red Bull Ford Powertrains to create an entirely new power unit for both Oracle Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Alpha Tauri.


Horner highlighted the ongoing exchange of ideas and technology between the two organizations as they prepare for the new regulations. Key areas of concentration for both teams include high-voltage propulsion systems, the production of the internal combustion engine and turbo unit, and collaboration with Red Bull Powertrains on the electronics systems.
