RACING: Second Straight Win for Magnussen, Garcia
On Sunday the TUDOR United Sports Car Championship at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca was won with a Corvette Racing C7.R. Driven by Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen, taking the victory by 4.71 seconds over the No.55 Bill Auberlen.
This was the duos second straight win in this race, the first time in the C7.R and it was Corvette Racings third straight win at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
Magnussen started out the race and was able to maintain the lead for all 42 laps of his driving, although not as easiley as the race in Long Beach a month prior, rarely leading by more than a second and nearly wiping out twice. At the one hour mark, Magnussen switched places with Garcia. Garcia maintained his momentum with fresh tires and a full tank of gas.
The other C7.R, driven by Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner although in the top three at the start of the race finished in fifth due to a spun out late in the race.
