RACING: 2014 Circle K NHRA Winternationals Begins
Tomorrow kicks off The 2014 Mello Yello NHRA drag racing season with the 54th Annual Circle K NHRA Winternationals at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, California featuring Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock classes in addition to several Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series categories.
Qualifying starts Friday, February 7th at 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. PT, and continues with the final two rounds on Saturday, February 8th at 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. PT. Eliminations begin Sunday, February 9th at 11 a.m. PT
In 2013, Shawn Langdon closed his Top Fuel championship-winning season with wins at the season-opener and finale at Pomona.
Courtney Force launched her Funny Car season in 2013 at Pomona by defeating Phil Burkhart, Matt Hagan and Bob Tasca III on her way to the finals against Ron Capps. Force also won a Wally from the inaugural event at New England Dragway, and was runner-up at both Las Vegas events, losing the second race to John Force where he went on to secure the championship.
Vincent Nobile 2013 Pro Stock winner moves to KB Racing this year alongside two-time champion Jason Line and four-time champ Greg Anderson, who will we be out for a few months after having surgery.
